Food Laws need to be in place. They keep consumers healthy and safe from buying potentially dangerous products. That is why the USA organized the FDA. Sinclare's book in the 20th century,

The Jungle, really got the nation's attention about how there food what being served to them. As for India they need to have these laws put into place because it will cause the amount of disease to drop. Some say that it will shut down street vendors and small business in India. I must say though if someone cannot come to the minimum requirements that are put in place they should not be producing any food or selling it for that manor. Food safety laws are important for the population of India, it will potentially cut down on the disease and will ultimately cut down on how dirty the cities are. I do understand where the author is coming form if someone is raising there own food and it is say organic or freshly picked and put right to market then the standards of those rules should be lowered. Food Safety Laws need to be in effect for plants altering or adding preservatives into the foods these to me are the most dangerous thing for consumers. Food is an important thing, everyone needs it. These safty laws will be vital for India to continue to flourish into the future.

I'm not really sure if this is your rough draft or not, but it sounds like an interesting idea. - Jocelyn Wallace
