Although Who Are You by the Who is a wonderful song, I still thought that if you really are looking to find out who I really am, then I would use a song by my favorite artist, Jason Mraz.
Now, I chose this song because the original words seemed fitting to my life, but I wanted to make them a little more personal to a current situation. The song is entitled Details in the Fabric.
Step up
Catch your breath
Let those words flow instead
Of letting yourself fall
Tripping time after time again
Shaking yourself up.
If it’s the drive in you, then chase it.
If it’s the muse inside then face it.
If it’s the love you feel then make it.
And let go
Of all you know
And go your own way
And let go
Of all you know
And go your own way
And everything will be fine
And everything will be fine
Hang on
They may not understand
Or even accept
He who is, your only hand
And let go
Of all you know
And go your own way
And let go
Of all you know
And go your own way
And everything will be fine
And everything will be fine
Is the rising of the tide
Is what causes your demise
Has the depth commenced and caused you to sink
Hear the echoes of the wind
You loose all reason, go on and scream
If you’re scared just look inside
And please read John 3:16
And everything will be fine
And everything will be fine
And close your eyes
Say goodnight
And go your own way
Just take flight
Don’t look behind
And go your own way
Is the rising of the tide (And let go)
Is what causes your demise (Of all you know)
Has the depth commenced and caused you to sink (And go your own way)
Is the rising of the tide (And close your eyes)
Is what causes your demise (Say goodnight)
Has the depth commenced and caused you to sink (And go your own way)
Hear the echoes of the wind (Just take flight)
You loose all reason, go on and scream (Don’t look behind)
If you’re scared just look inside (And go your own way)
And please read John 3:16
Everything will be fine
Everything in no time at all
Your heart will hold.
As for the girl who has too much time on her hands, I also did the Who song as well.
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
I am the self driven explorer
A wandering mind with no control
I travel the world knowing that i hold it
in the palm of my hands
I am the faith filled youth
The strong willed beleiver
I follow the beat of my own drum
When they zig I zag
chorus:
Well, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
Tell me, who are you? (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
'Cause I really wanna know (Who are you? Who, who, who, who?)
I am the creative inventor
The one to make something out of nothing
A blank page simply becoming art
As soon as that wandering mind of mine explodes
I am the New England girl
The damsel fartherest from distress
Making due with circumstances
Yet striving to never settle
Who are you?
Ooh wa ooh wa ooh wa ooh wa ...
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
(chorus)
I am the acoustic setting
The peaceful, the humble
Open and ready for change
For whatever comes my way
I am the one who cares not to rhyme
The one who lets it flow
Something new to discover, if you dare
I am me.
"One must have chaos in one to give birth to a dancing star."
When I first read this quote, the first thing I thought of was my mother. The best way to describe her really is perfectly stated as a “chaotic dancing star.” If everything was simple and everything was unpredictable, running smoothly against time then you become completely blasé to the world because of the very fact that you have had nothing to challenge you. You don’t develop any questions that are deeper than your skin. Chaos is like a struggle, rather it IS a struggle. My mother went through a divorce from a relationship with the man she had been with for 33 years. This struggle, this chaos caused her to question her reason for being, and even the big question of, “why me” as we all have asked our self at one point or another. Through these questions you begin to contemplate, and this is when faith, religion, moral support, family, friends, and simply your ultimate outlook on life comes into play. For my mother, it was God. She turned to him to almost recreate herself, to become a different person all together then who she had molded herself to be when she was married. So through Him, through faith, through finding courage and strength within herself, she found herself a “dancing star.” She found the rhythm and the steps to become this “dancing star” out of the depths of this chaos in her life. Chaos builds character, it creates dancing stars.
