Unit II Cover Sheet

Page history last edited by Jakub Garbacz 15 years, 5 months ago

What is your thesis? How did this particular argument come about?

My thesis is that the movie “Zeitgeist” is filled with mistakes, it misinterprets many facts, or it ignores the facts and interpretations that don’t fit its thesis. This argument came to me when I was watching this movie, and I saw all the mistakes the authors have made.

Who's your audience and what techniques do you use to make your writing speak to their concerns and interests?

My audience are basically the people who saw that movie, and either don't know what to think about it or are fascinated with it. To approach them I was trying to show the facts, and to point how often the authors try to sell their mistakes as the truth.

Upon reviewing your completed composition (and process), what aspect of your work (or it's process) most surprised you?

When I was starting to write this paper I didn't realize how much I could write about that topic. I left so many arguments out of the paper that I could write at least one additional paper where I could present them.

Did you learn anything new while growing your composition? Explain.

I learned many interesting things about an astrology and its history, and about several mythological deities, like Attis or Mithra.

When you use secondary sources, do those sources contribute to ethos, logos, or pathos appeals?

My sources provided me with an additional knowledge, thus contributing to my logos appeal, and with concrete, undeniable facts, thus strenghening my ethos appeal.

When considering peer feedback as you revised your rough draft, which advice/suggestion/question/criticism/edit was most useful/helpful?

The suggestion to write about an eventual impact the movie might have on the society was propably the most helpful.

On your final version, where would you like to see the most feedback and attention from graders

I would like to see the most attention from my graders on parts, where I show that the point made in the movie is clearly wrong, or is just a vague, very unlikely theory, where other, much better theory might be applied.
