  Part 1

This is an interesting way to go about disproving religion. I have heard many arguments that go after religion's far-fetched stories and practices, but this takes a slightly different approach. It also tries to persuade people that religion is just stories by comparing the stories in the bible to the stories created by other religions. I have never heard this before. However, as intersting as this all is, it's not much more effective at disproving religion than other arguments that I have heard. The reason is that no matter what argument is presented, Christianity has a way to explain it. It may be a very far-fetched explanation, but then again, religion itself is far-fetched.The best example is the dinosaurs. "God put them there to test our faith". This excuse can be used for anything.

It seems to me that arguments over religion can only be directed at those people that haven't made up their minds yet. Kids, mostly. Teenagers are still confused over what to believe, so movies like this appeal to them because it gives them reasons to not believe. People who have made up their minds that they will follow the bible are not going to be swayed by something like this because they can always find a way to dispute it. Religious people only change their minds by themselves. Generally, if they aren't questioning their belief already, there is nothing that one can do.

It is interesting to me that we are nearing the end of the "age of Jesus". Society kind of reflects this. At one point, religion was the ultimate power. To question it meant a sure trip to hell, and to publicly dispute it meant heresey and death. However, more recently, it seems like the craziness of religion and the ridiculous stories are being revealed as just that. Non belief is spreading, as far as I can see. Especially among teenagers and young adults.
